Objective

To broaden my experience and knowledge of boating and to share my love and enthusiasm for the sport.

Sailing Experience

I started sailing at the age of eight on my father’s 25ft yacht.  Later I sailed 16ft hoby catamarans for sport at high school, crewed in regular Saturday races on an 18ft yacht at my local yacht club and spent a week on a charter yacht sailing the Whitsunday Islands.

I qualified as a Yachtmaster in August 2003, after completing a four-month professional sail-training programme at the Hamble School of Yachting in the UK.

In October 2003 I crewed as First Mate, delivering a 33ft Kalik from Dublin, Ireland to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

In September 2004 I delivered a 44ft Legend from the Solent, UK to Cascais, Portugal.  On this trip I was employed as the Skipper and the two owners were my crew.

I have been working full time as a freelance Skipper and Cruising Instructor in the Solent, UK since January 2004.
